TL;DR: It's furry Game of Thrones , where Clint Eastwood is just kind of there. Morton Christian has already watched one world end. After a second American civil war leaves Texas a wasteland, the aging cowboy has little left beyond his revolver, his faith, and a stubborn habit of helping people who need it. Then a machine buried beneath the desert sends him somewhere impossible--a new land unlike his dearest Texas, where the primary people are cats that stand on two legs. His first discovery is Prince Tahir: a pampered, poetry-loving feline nobleman bound in the back of a slave cart. Morton shoots the slavers. Now he has a prince to get to where he needs to go. Their road east should be simple. Instead, Morton finds himself in a matriarchal society where men wear dresses, women fight wars, and everyone seems convinced the bearded, gun-toting Texan is extremely feminine . Tahir, meanwhile, is beginning to wonder why this bizarre foreigner treats him with more dignity than his own family ever has. But the road to the capital is turning bloody. Religious zealots have marked Tahir for sacrifice, powerful nobles are preparing for a struggle over the realm’s future, and Morton’s promise to protect one frightened prince is dragging him into something much larger than either of them realizes. Morton has already failed to save one world. He doesn’t intend to make it two. What to Expect - Multi-Pov with multiple different narratives around the MCs - A post-apocalyptic Texan cowboy isekai’d into a fantasy world - A central odd-couple friendship between a gruff older cowboy and a sheltered young prince - M/M, F/F, F/M intimacy - Heavily inverted gender roles and the culture shock that comes with them - A matriarchal feline society with its own religion, customs, class system, and expectations of masculinity - Road-trip fantasy with lots of character banter and fish-out-of-water comedy - Political intrigue between deeply dysfunctional royal families - Religious fanaticism, conspiracies, assassinations, and noble backstabbing - Guns meeting swords, monsters, and brutal fights - Dark comedy mixed with genuinely heavy subject matter - Themes of masculinity, autonomy, family obligation, faith, sexuality, and cultural conditioning - A strong focus on relationships and character development rather than nonstop progression or power scaling - Mature content, including graphic violence, sexual material, slavery, abuse, prejudice, and religious trauma Schedule Hopefully at least two chapters a week, mostly on Saturdays and Sundays. I sometimes post more or less throughout the week, so the schedule can be pretty sporadic due to working full time and being a college student.
