June huffed, exhuming steam from deep within. He had spent the last two hours of his life standing in a dark alleyway, Flesh-Shaping a mortal shell and adjusting his voice to fit a new alias. June himself wasn't exactly tall, to say the least; in fact, he was quite short compared to most of his age group, and when he underwent his Dreamer transformation, he only gained around an inch of height. Needless to say, a 5'6 ft man with a bouncy voice isn't exactly the epitome of intimidation.
However, with the power of Flesh-Shaping and Will, he was able to create himself a suitable vessel for intimidation. With his new voice, when he spoke, the world literally trembled with bass, and when he walked, it shook the ground with an imposing force that sounded like boulders being dropped. He was quite happy with his new look as well! His vessel stood at a towering 8ft, slightly overtaking Mortimer's impossible height! His head was covered in an ivory great helm.
It was cylindrical, with vertical slits haphazardly scratched down to make slits in what could barely be considered a visor, His eyes and face were fully obscured and anyone who would dare to look in would only be greeted with darkness…
mainly because even though the vessel was 8ft tall, June didn't particularly want to fully alter his body, he still stood around 5'6ft and sat inside the warm and fleshy bone suit and piloted it using his Will like an exosuit, the reason only darkness could be seen in the intimidating helm of bone was because, there was nothing inside but flesh since June himself was too short to look out the visor, and didn't bother increasing his height.
Moving down, the weathered brown cloak that June borrowed was wrapped around his neck, stuck between the helm of fearsome bone and a gnarly breastplate, presenting itself as a knight's cowl. The bone breastplate looked as if it were stolen and carved to fit onto the beast that lay within the armor.
Layers of ribs protruded, making the simple bone into a protective armor; plates of bone hugged his sides, chest, and places where a single strike would turn the wearer and armor into a mangled amalgamation of indiscernible one. The arms of the grotesque suit were heavily plated and featured fractured growths from the wearer's forearms that were not too dissimilar from the horns of a great beast.
Cracks and wear ran through the pearly gauntlets like rivers, telling a gruesome story to anything unfortunate enough to see them straight on. A belt of braided sinew held an eccentric weapon of spinal bone to his false body's waist, along with a small notebook that clung to the sinew along the binders that held it together. His armor went down his legs, making each leg covered in heavy bone plate look like mallet heads designed to strike opposing flesh and bone into a chunky pulp.
If you spot this narrative on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation. This was it! His magnum opus! At least until he made his next flesh-suit, that is! For the moment at least, it would have to do; all he needed to do now was to walk into the Guild hall, up to the front desk, sign up, and take a few quick jobs! It wouldn't be easy, as far as June could tell, but the order of operations seemed simple enough for no caveats to pop up.
'Walk in, sign up, pick a quick job that pays well… Walk in, sign up, pick a quick job that pays well…' June stumbled a few steps, but quickly got the hang of controlling his gigantic vessel. The night was young, yet it was still night, meaning that the Guild Hall by his mental calculations should be mostly empty, meaning that he could minimize his chances of talking with people and sooner get back to Lilia!
Thud Thud Thud Like localized earthquakes, every step shook the ground a little; the air around his visor and back warped in response to the heat that his vessel let off. Each step was both a breeze and a hurdle; his immense size, coupled with heavy armor, produced and trapped heat within, similar to his previous mortal shells.
'Getting a little toasty in here, I'll have to ask Mortimer how to properly incorporate sweat glands!' June placed an arm in front of him, shoving the double doors into the Guild with a gentle push, before stomping in with his eyes fixated on the front desks that sat in a neat row. The establishment was fairly empty at the hour. However, all eyes within the hall immediately snapped to June. He was able to smell a mixed bag of emotions from those around him, but the dominating emotion was the sweet treat that was…
FEAR With a side of curiosity and interest! One of the receptionists suddenly stiffened before falling backwards; another tried to avert their eyes and resorted to hesitantly curling up under the table; one, however, looked at June with the standard overly exaggerated smile, looking more tired than afraid.
June walked up to the desk; his mortal shell looked down at the counter and the tired woman behind it, finding it somewhat ironic that despite the shell having to look down, he would have to look up to see the person's face in any other circumstance. He inhaled and imbued Will into his voice.
"I want to apply." The tired woman lazily looked up at his vessel with sleepy eyes and spoke with an overly cheery tone.
"Very well, sir! Would you like to apply as a specialist for 100 Lenites or as a common worker for 25 Lenites?" June held in the urge to break character; he was supposed to be intimidating, scary, and unapproachable, and backtracking or hesitating in the moment would spell disaster by making him seem somewhat more approachable. He scoured his memory instead of checking the notebook; he needed to look sure, like he never hesitated.
After a few moments of dreadful silence, June imbued Will into his voice once more and asked.
"I did not hear of a… application fee nor this specialist role that you speak of… woman." He silently patted himself on the back for his performance of intimidating monster, while silently worrying.
'I hope that wasn't too mean'
