Chương 104: Two-And-A-Half-Years-old (4) Stalking My Mother (Again)
How Am I SUPPOSED To Survive In Naruto As An Handicapped Child!? · Pergostra · 116 chương · ~14 phút đọc · Tạo 02/08/2026
My mom is trying to do new things. I think. Well, no, not I think, I'm sure of it. That's actually the reason why I stopped my training for now. Trained well to be honest. For some months, I'd say three good months, a bit less, trained everyday, every second, every hour, constantly. And my progress culminated in me killing a giant snake out of all things.
A dumb giddy smile spreads on my face and I need to restrain my laugh to avoid being caught, sliding above a roof, I turn around and go to the opposite side to continue following my mother as she takes a turn right below me. This? Is the reason why I stopped my training. The time I gained is gone. Money's running dry again, and my mom needs to go prostitute herself again, well, at least, that's what I thought she'd be doing. But that's something I started to doubt a month ago.
When she started leaving and exploring the city, even when there was still a pretty good amount of money stockpiled, that was odd for sure, but what's even surer is that she didn't even got close to the poor district or youta's house. Which is odd. Really odd considering her last job. And it was odd enough to attract my curiosity. Pulling back from the edge of the roof, sliding back until I reach the other edge, my foot presses against the roof edge and gather speed until-whoooosh. My cloak trail behind me.
A trail of black as my baby body flies above my mother. For one good second, I'm mid-air, flying, the next my legs squat on the opposite roof and the entire force from my fall get redirected into a biiiiiiiig demi circle slide, keeping me drifting close to the roof edge and slowly pulling me toward the middle until all energy has been burned out. So spirallllly. That's why I'm following her right now. And that's why I've been following her for a while, not ONLY today, but I've been trailing her for a week already.
Liberated a spot in my just schedule to do that. Well... That's a lie. This stalking is considered 'sliding and sneaking practice'. That's why I'm on the roof instead of following behind her. I mean. I have a passive illusion that makes everyone unable to see me, well, not see me me exactly. Because that's not really what I'm doing. Ah! Yeah! You don't know but I figured out how I'm doing my passive illusions!
It was a bit of a mess to figure out, but that's because I didn't look at the right place, you see, I was obssesed with the thought that my illusions were put on people, and to a certain degree, yes, they are. Most of my most powerful illusions are made in people brain, in people body in general really, those last few weeks, I've been working on expanding my flow in people and animal bodies and it's kinda working, feel like my magic is messing with other things than just the brain, but I don't have much proof of that yet. What I do have a good proof of is my passive illusion. The invisibility. From what I gathered. It's something my body constantly emanates when I'm in a focused state of mind. When I slide on the ground.
Move around. Or just live, my magic digs into the ground, a pretty small amount, but an amount nonetheless. And then. This amount of magic follows me and keeps following me, almost creating a zone of magic around me that doesn't affect PEOPLE but it seems to affect the ground around me. I don't EXACTLY know what I'm doing. But I can guess that I'm making the environment look different or something, different enough for me not to exist in it.
And that would make sense why sound or attracting attention breaks the illusion. It's because I'm not affecting people brains and making them unable to hear me at all, or see me at all, but I'm just changing the environment and hiding my body in there. Don't really know what people are seeing but... If it works it works. Maybe I'm wrong though. Again, I'm not too sure.
My foot sticks to the wall of the building beneath me, and I stand vertically on said wall to look down at the street, arms crossed while waiting for my mother. Still need to practice some shit to be sure that my theory is right, but by basing myself on this theory, I managed to create some techniques, some traps especially. In the middle of my wondering my mother comes out of the shop beneath me, she looks pretty depressed. Understandable. It's like the third one today.
And she's kind of running out of people to try this against. As she keeps walking toward another destination, I leap on another building and keep following her, remembering what I saw those last few days. My mother is trying to change. Her job at least. I don't know why, maybe it's because of the amount of time we passed together those last few months, and how our relationship advanced, but one month ago, she randomly started going out and doing this... Going out. Trying to make contacts.
Trying to meet people, and most importantly, trying to get a job. Which is. Actually a great thing! Proud of you attamom! Go! Go! She goes in another shop and I camp above it. In any case. My mother's been changing a bit, she's been staring at my door more and more without knocking, enough to worry me. So I changed some things in my room. I didn't remove the traps. Or anything else really. But I did use a new technique of mine on it.
It dissipate every night after I sleep, but I can put it on pretty fast so if she opens my door -something she didn't do yet- at night I'll hear it -I'm twitchy- and put it on, I also put it on every morning when I wake up. It's nothing too crazy, but it's a great technique I figured how to do with the same principle running through my passive invisibility and some of my new traps. I call it. Environmental Illusions! Okay the name's still in beta. In any case, the illusion makes my entire room pretty safe nowadays.
If she opens my door she won't see the weapons, nope, she won't see the holes in the wall, she won't see the blanket hiding me from the outside, she won't see my kunai plushie or my crossbow and all the fucking bolts I have and all the books I stole... No. She won't. She'll see a cute baby room. A crib under the open window that shows the rain, like always, like she thinks I love.
She'll see a clean room, with the handmirror she gifted me on the only box she gave me, and beside it, she'll see papers with cute baby drawings. Perfect. My mom comes out of the shop beneath me again. Depressed. Probably got thrown away again. Well. That's. understandable really. I wouldn't engage a random woman in my shop in those times, well, from what I've heard this week, some tried but for other... reasons. Thankfully my mother refused.
Still she wasn't too too against it, just said she'll think about it and then left. So... Yeah. My hand comes up to rub my chin, and my mother head comes up to look far away at one of the shops with a lecherous owner. Hmmm. Okay. Looks like it's time for Lady luck to intervene again. And this time I'm not planning on giving her some money. No. I'm planning on giving her a job.
