I Can See Health Bars [OP MC/LitRPG/Zombie Apocalypse/Eldritch] · LaTiao · 201 chương · ~13 phút đọc · Tạo 05/07/2026
The locks on the two apartments on the sixth floor had originally been kicked broken by Vince, so the doors were usually just pushed shut. Therefore, after Vince and the others knocked and got a response, they simply pushed the door open and walked right in. As soon as they entered, they saw Seth coming over to greet them.
"Vince..." he greeted Vince with a somewhat panicked expression.
"Don't panic, what's wrong?" Vince patted his shoulder.
"I heard from Zoe that you've got superpowers too..." But Vince didn't even need to hear it from Zoe; he could already see the Health Bar floating above Seth's head. A green [120/120], bordered by a semi-transparent, light-blue frame. At first glance, one might assume it was an incomplete Awakening. But looking at his energy bar—[60/60]—Vince instantly understood. That specific colored border corresponded to his specific special ability.
"Yeah... but..." Seth held out his hands, looking at his palms nervously, as if he were terrified of something.
"This seems to only take effect if you're a bit further away from me..." Saying that, he voluntarily stepped backward, retreating all the way to the bedroom door. He then furrowed his brows, seemingly exerting effort. Vince's eyebrows twitched slightly. In his vision, he felt a familiar fluctuation slowly seeping out from Seth's body. Like a continuously rippling layer of water, it transformed into a veil, slowly shrouding Seth's body...
"He's gone, he's gone!" Zoe exclaimed in surprise from the side.
"Dage, look, he turned invisible!"
"He really disappeared..."
"It's true..." Cody and Claire chimed in from behind. Hearing their marveling, Vince turned his head and asked Claire:"Claire, describe what you're feeling right now..."
"Ah?" Suddenly called upon by Vince, Claire was a bit surprised, but she still frowned seriously and stared intently at the spot where Seth had vanished, as if trying to discern something.
"He... he still seems to be there, but I can't quite see him clearly... It's like he's turned into an irrelevant piece of furniture in the background. Even though I sometimes feel he's standing right there, my eyes just subconsciously slide off him, completely unable to focus... This feeling... is a bit familiar, like I've experienced it before..."
"Hehe..." Vince chuckled awkwardly and patted Cody.
"What about you?"
"Pretty much the same as Claire, I can't really describe it... but it's roughly like that..." Cody said hesitantly. Before Vince could even ask, Zoe took the initiative to answer: "I can't see him, but I know he's right there. He has keys on him, I can feel them..." Zoe was pinpointing Seth's position through her own ability. But in Vince's vision, aside from feeling that familiar energy fluctuation shroud him at the very beginning, there was absolutely no change afterward.
The tale has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation. He could clearly see Seth nervously closing his eyes; he could even see his constantly trembling eyelashes. He observed him silently just like that. After about a minute, Seth's energy value ticked down from [60] to [59]...
"Uh... Seth, why are your eyes closed? What are you afraid of?" Having drawn his conclusion, Vince asked Seth in confusion.
"... Ah? Vince, you can see him?" Hearing Vince's question, Claire subconsciously felt something was off. Suddenly realizing the implication, she asked in shock. The others also heard Claire's words and all turned their heads, staring at Vince in astonishment. Hearing Vince's words, Seth first obediently opened his eyes. But immediately realizing what it meant, he ran a few steps over to the group and excitedly grabbed Vince's arm, asking:"Really, Vince?! You can see me?"
His eyes were filled with wild joy and absolute relief, like a drowning man clutching a lifeline.
"That's wonderful! Just now... that feeling was like being cursed. I felt like my entire being was being extracted and isolated from this world. I was so terrified... terrified that if this ability went out of control, I would never be able to come back..." So that was it... Listening to him speak, Vince finally understood what he was so afraid of. If it were anyone else, they would probably try everything in their power to eliminate the person capable of seeing through their invisibility.
But Seth was the exact opposite. He was overjoyed precisely because Vince could see through his invisibility. Perhaps it was because he had once been paralyzed by fear when facing someone's pleas for help, that his greatest fear now was being completely abandoned and isolated by the world... But the past was the past after all. Everyone was walking toward the future step by step. Even though that fear might accompany him forever, at the very least, right now, there was something Vince could do.
"Sigh..." Vince reached out and gripped Seth's shoulder, giving him an affirming look. He coughed lightly and said,"Well then... let me perform an acrobatics trick for you guys too..." With that, he equipped the [Stealth Crystal]. Under everyone's bewildered gazes, he walked step by step toward the spot where Seth had just been standing. As Vince walked forward step by step, the eyes of the group behind him gradually widened.
Because in their vision, Vince's back was becoming less and less distinct; he was disappearing! Just like Seth!
"Vince, you can do it too?!" Although Seth couldn't see Vince, hearing the others describe him just now, it was exactly what he himself had done!
"Vince! You... I knew this feeling was way too familiar!" Claire suddenly remembered where she had experienced this intense sense of déjà vu. It was the day she was carrying supplies downstairs and he had jump-scared her!
"Hehe..." Vince smiled at Claire and unequipped the crystal. Seth's ability operated in the exact same manner as the [Stealth Crystal]. And what Vince had just done was a direct demonstration far more effective than any verbal encouragement or reassurance.
"Don't worry, this is just a form of energy manipulation. It's your talent, not some curse. Cheer up, we've got work to do in a bit..."
"Yeah!" Seeing that Vince possessed the exact same ability, Seth finally broke free from his panic. He nodded vigorously, a new light finally shining in his eyes.
"Dage... you can turn invisible too... I want that too..." Zoe tugged at Vince's shirt corner, mumbling. Vince casually smacked the top of her head.
"You want a smack on the head, that's what you want..."... Amidst the cheerful banter, the group returned from Seth's apartment to 301. They heated up yesterday's leftover egg flatbreads and chive pockets, and boiled another pot of noodles. A total of five people—four of them Awakened—swept the food completely clean and still weren't full, forcing them to pad their stomachs with a few more packs of instant noodles...
"We're going to eat ourselves out of house and home..." Watching the group polish off what would normally be three days' worth of food for an average person in a single meal, Vince couldn't help but lament.
"Only Cody is a good boy now..." He looked at the only yellow [77/100] among the group... This thought flashed through his mind before Vince immediately laughed at himself in self-deprecation. Whatever, it is what it is. I'm tired of overthinking it...
"Hurry up and eat. Once we're done, we're heading downstairs to reorganize our tactics!"
"Since we ate this much, our zombie kill quota for today is doubling!" With a change of thought, Vince immediately perked up from the sofa. He now had three superhumans under his command. Why are we still clearing buildings? We're done sweeping buildings. We're heading straight out into the complex! Let's go farm supplies!
