"So I have to fight Jun?"

"Yes," she says.

"I want to learn it." I step forward. The yard goes still. They're waiting. It's time.

"The resources we've been living on; the cloaks, the food, the medicine, the freezer, the better tools." I pause.

"You believed it came from the mine. It did. But not the way I told you. I found something in the mine. Months ago. A hidden chamber, sealed for centuries. A Nascent Soul's tomb, preserved and waiting. The wealth inside is what funded everything. A discovery, and a decision to use it for this sect rather than for myself." Wei Chen's mouth opens.

"A Nascent Soul's—?!"

"I found other things there too," I continue.

"Techniques. Artifacts. Knowledge." I look at Ling'er.

"And I found confirmation of something I had already started to suspect."
