Chương 19: Nova vs Hundred.

I looked at the men, the fire caught their eye and they began to rush towards the campsite. Okay, Nova let's get this started. I ran opposite to the direction of the fire and climbed the nearest tree, not just to hide but to get a better view of where Drago's men were patrolling. A large group — sixty or more were moving towards the campsite fire. The rest of them scattered across the land. My eyes still scanned in the distance, wherever it could reach. But there was no sign of him.

This distraction was to draw out Drago, so he'd come and I could move to the next phase of the plan. But he didn't show up. So I had to change my plan and the new plan was to take down all hundred of them. Pretty simple but a lot harder than I could've handled. I knew that taking down all at once was nearly impossible. So I needed a strategy.

I didn't make any kind of loud sound, and leaped at the last second. Landed on the first man's back with both knees connecting to the fracture zone. CRACK. He went down fast and hard. The second man quickly spun towards me and started swinging the club, faster than I expected.

I stepped left dodging it, then right, moving backwards as the club cut through the air in front of me. He swung again, his chin was exposed. Finally I saw an opening and cartwheel my body backwards, the top of my boot connected to his chin on the rotation. CRACK. And he fell backwards and did not get up. I could already hear footsteps, they were heading here.

I moved fast towards the next location where I had spotted a fallen log from the tree. I was running up the hill. The log lay halfway along the slope, thick near the root. And directly in the direction of the burning campsite. One end was stuck behind the stone, and the stone was nearly four feet high. The surface of the stone angled upward. The other end touched the slope surface, not perfectly balanced. A small part of it was buried under the dry ground. It was locked in its place.

"This should work." I mumbled. I stepped behind it and set my hands against the bark, it was rough and heavy. I pushed upwards. It didn't move. The log didn't shift, the angled stone pushed it backwards towards me. It came straight back into the ground. I pushed it again with more force.

"Move already, you stubborn log." I adjusted my foot, in the forward direction. Still nothing. I lifted the log a little and carefully crouched under it, lifting it with my body. I managed to put it over the very end of the tone surface which was flat. Now all it needed was a push that would tip it over. I tipped the log harder with my leg. And it started rolling downwards towards the campsite, the push had given it momentum to roll down the hill, bouncing to the uneven surface.

Then rolling forward again and faster. It was heading towards the direction of the fire where I had created the distraction, where the majority of Drago men were. The dry wood reached there and caught fire. Still didn't stop. The burning log, still rolling, moving through the grass towards the larger group of men near the campsite. Some of them saw it coming and dove sideways. Others were too slow and among them were facing the other direction. The burning log moved faster, coming from their blindspot.

And hitting some of them. I saw the effect of it and moved immediately. I didn't stop there and watch the rest, I didn't have any time to waste. The chaos and confusion had spread towards the campsite, I rushed towards the campsite because it was the perfect moment to take advantage of all that confusion. The log had burned the dry grass along its way, it created a smoke screen, where everything was blurry.

A man nearby coughed, covering his mouth with one hand and the other hand putting out fire by his water magic. A few others were near him but were unable to see. WEAKNESS IDENTIFIED: KNEE I turned my body backwards and stretched my legs upwards towards his knee and hit it with the back of my boot. It connected and the men fell down. CRACK.

"ARGHH." Screaming, it got the attention of the other men.

"What's happening?" The screaming man shouted, "She is here, the woman — she's here." I thought you would have shouted. I broke into view of another men just for a second — just enough that he could see someone was there. Then I slipped back into the smoke. A burst of fire shot through where I had been. It missed me. But hit someone else. The reaction of shouting planted a confusion in their head. Men surrounding him watched the person shoot fire towards him.

"You… You're with her aren't you." Soon after some turned on each other, divided in two or three groups. A doubt planted in their head was the only thing I planned from the very start. Suddenly, a flare caught my eye in the sky. Oren had done his job, I knew where he was, the flare had given his direction. I moved ahead, running. Towards the direction of the flare. Few of those men had spotted me and that group was chasing me. Nearly fifteen of them. They were on my tail.

I quickly climbed back up on the nearest tree I spotted, so that they would be out of my reach. They were looking around, so I started walking on a branch to the next tree. A wave of wind came behind me, It made me lose my balance, My hands grabbed the branch as I was hanging. Two of the men came rushing towards me, I started swinging back and forth and managed to climb up, just in time. Both men collided with each other, I started walking again and another wave of wind came towards me. I somehow balanced myself.

My eyes went to the back of the group. A man with his arms extended, palm open. A wind magic. The man was continuously shooting his wind magic towards me, making sure I didn't escape. The wind blinded my eyes for a second, then I turned my head away from the wind. A man had climbed the tree from the other side and came closer to attack. I jumped down quickly behind the tree blocking the wind. But I was surrounded by them, there was no escape.

The wind was still so powerful that moving forward was riskier, I knew it would have blinded my vision. A man swung his club at me, I ducked and moved behind him, the club broke hitting the tree trunk. Another man threw a spear in my direction. I dove to the left and the wooden spear caught the man who I had just dodged. The wind pushed me back but I somehow managed to hide behind the tree again. This way I won't last long, I have to take down that wind user…

But how would I go near him, without wind hitting my eyes. Wait… An Idea popped into my head. I opened my inventory, and pull out the very mask, which I used in the cave. There was no oxygen present in it but the mask wind shield would help me move forward while blocking the wind. I wore that mask and ran towards him. The wind came faster, it was pushing me back harder, I used my momentum against it and ran sideways. Moving closer. But he followed.

A man rushed towards me to try to attack but somehow I dodged his attack and grabbed him in front of me and pushed him towards the wind user. It gave me perfect time to rush from the side, before he could follow. I was already there. I moved behind him and swung the back of my elbow to his head. I turned back and the remaining men ran away, I didn't follow them. I removed my mask and put it back in my inventory. As I moved further, something in the shadows was there.

My perception skill detected it, it didn't move just waited until I reached there. Then a figure appeared.

"Impressive, you took all of my men." I stopped there, I knew that voice, it was Drago.

"I saw how you fought them." He started walking towards me.

"Activate fracture point." I whispered. The display appeared in front of me. I didn't believe my eyes, that what I saw was real. Wait, how is that possible. He has… No weakness. WEAKNESS IDENTIFIED: NONE Maybe on my current level I was not able to find his weakness. Everybody has a weakness but this man didn't have one. I didn't wait and swept, attacking his ankle. So I could trip him and make him fall on the ground. But he didn't even flinch. I quickly moved back.

"I told you, if you try anything." He paused.

"Next time, I will make sure you won't be able to stand." He cracked his knuckles with a smirk on his face. I had to buy time, until I figured out how to defeat him.

"I didn't do anything, your man attacked me as soon as I handed over my supplies."

"So I attacked them."

"I kept the end of my deal. Drago. And your men didn't." He listened and then he replied.

"How do you know my name?" Shit! I didn't think his name just came out. Before I could say anything, he had already figured it out.

"I see, so that rat told you. Well then after I'm done with you, he and his family, all of them are going to die." Something came over me, and I rushed carelessly to attack him. To attack his face but he blocked my kick with his one hand. And then threw me against the tree, My back hit first. Health point went down by hundred Before I could get up he was here, he kicked straight at my face, I was able to duck and the kick hit the tree behind me. It cracked and split in two falling down on the ground.

That powerful kick that cut the tree in half, he was no ordinary man. How could I defeat this behemoth? I ran away from him… If I stayed close within his range, it would end badly for me.

"Running away, are you?" He threw his heavy club directly towards me. It was fast. Too fast. Not enough time to dodge it. It hit my back and I fell on my stomach. My health points dropped down further. I coughed hard. But he didn't stop there, he lifted that broken tree above him with ease and threw it at me with full force. It hit me but I dodged my head somehow. HEALTH POINTS: 572/1800 He walked closer. My body is in really bad shape. I can't take any more of his hits. One more hit from him and I could die.

I tried to stand, but my body refused to co-operate. He was three metres away — Just three metres. Come on, think… The Apex Predator skill… I can use that, but I am not sure I can … He was here.

"You are dead." I don't have any other choice, I have to.
