Loren knelt before the statue of Veymur, shrouded in a mists of stone.
"By the Will of Kronan, by the will of Veymur, I beseech thee." Loren lit two candles at his side and leaned down in prayer. … Somewhere in a land far far away, Veymur twirled a glass of Starlit Wine from the Axis Dominion.
"Not another upstart priest trying to report how his village in particular is special." Veymur sighed. He waved his hand, sending deep mists scattering about.
"Not now.". A simple glance was all he needed to tell how useless…
"Is that actually coming from…" The prayer flew back towards him and stopped right before his face.
"B-b-b-by Kronan this is from the Flux-sea! This is from Myrraval!" His face scrunched up in fear, memories of a bygone time racing past his eyes. He spread his arms out and pulled the prayer wide, giving him a clear image of the priest.
"... A queen of Myrraval has been named, a newly classed child by the name of Nythera Vel Aurendor. She has unified all four towns and slain Damien of Karaveth. I beseech you to bless our island and our newly-formed nation, The Kingdom of Myrraval." the priest prayed.
"Aurendor" he whispered, "that damnable line has returned? They yet live?" He stared incredulously at the prayer. The Dead Moon is Dead, the Aurendorians were supposed to be dead! DEAD! When the Axis finds out they are going to be pissed… If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, it's taken without the author's consent. Report it. This is a chance for profit. Veymur pulled deep on his power, his right to rule over the mists of the world.
Energy swirled in a great tempest around him, his domain creaking and bending under the weight of force unleashed. The pillar holding his territory up let loose a twinge of dissatisfaction. I need to end this soon. NOW! Drawing on all the power he had accumulated, Veymur unleashed his Will.
"I, Veymur of the Mist, of the First Circle, Grant my Blessing to Myrraval and to Nythera Vel Aurendor." The words echoed timelessly through his halls. Power surged outwards, launching in a great arc as it flew through the Realm of Kronan. Veymur flopped back in his throne. Welp I'm spent, time to do nothing for a few decades while this welp grows up into someone I can use. I should probably tell the priest something so he's not too shocked when the blessing arrives.
Veymur reached out with his Will, grasping the prayer and allowing a tiny, heavily-restrained, thread of his power to reach into the world. Around the priest, mist surged forth, coming from seemingly nowhere, it swirled through the temple, weaving mystery within its depths. Loren looked up, the mist swirling with incredible vigour around him.
"An... actual message from the gods." He kowtowed as deeply as he could. A voice echoed from the mist, coming from all sides at once.
"I, Veymur, will give my blessing to the Kingdom of Myrraval and to Nythera Vel Aurendor. The Assembly of Kronan stands with her.". Loren whimpered "I understand, your exaltness". Veymur let loose a puff of smoke.
"Priests these days, where is my live sacrifice? Oh well…" Veymur sighed, "I wonder if I could give her any of the Starlit weapons? He eyed the sprawling fluxstone table before him, covered in ancient, long-lost weapons from beyond time. A greatsword meant for cutting canals through the world, a bow capable of shooting down meteors, a ring that would triple anyone's flux capacity…
"Why do mortals have to be so weak, a shame any of these would instantly overload her Ember-Frost scale… If only there was something I could give her to hasten her rise…." Veymur lounged back in his chair in thought.
"Didn't Luck have some weaker items? That wacko was always collecting strange things from the Everplane…" Veymur got out of his throne and clambered for the exit.
"Yes, Luck should have something I can use.."
