Chương 6: Book 1 Summary for RR

Will gets his start in Ashwood out of an orphanage. His parents were famous Climbers, but they haven't been back in years, so they're presumed dead. He has a rare and valuable Sacrifice that can be used to help create his Class. Shortly after he turns 14, he goes to the hunting grounds and hunts some low-level monsters with his friend Ben. Will bribes a younger friend at the orphanage to be his hype man.

After a nasty encounter, Will takes a week off, and by the time he gets back, Ben has made friends with a group of Veteran Climbers. They take Will out to a hunting ground and try to steal his stuff, marooning him in the Class Trial, which requires three Sacrifices to complete. Will only has two, and manages to spoof a 3 rd by using his own left hand. He gains the Resourceful Climber Class and finishes the trial by hunting a group of goblinoids. He returns home to find Ben is dead, and the veterans are gone.

He joins a newbie quest to fend off some 2 nd floor baddies, and gets the highest achievement through luck and crazy amounts of determination. This narrative has been purloined without the author's approval. Report any appearances on Amazon. He joins up with a kobold he met on the newb quest and the two of them tackle the 2 nd Floor. Will gets kidnapped by some weirdos who are acquiring talented youngsters through force and conducting strange human experiments.

Will manages to escape, makes it to a nearby town and tries to have his hand restored. The local priest can't do it, and they sell him a priest as compensation. The priest is a scumbag, but he knows where a missing treasure trove of dead people with expensive gear is. They fight some yetis, acquire the loot, send the corspes home to their parents, and head for the next Floor. They meet some newb Climbers, and catch a ride on the bus heading to the next Floor.

'Bus' is a common word for a group of high-level people escorting low level ones. You can follow behind them and score a ride up. The bus is ambushed on the 3 rd Floor and they scatter, taking one of the still-alive busees with them, managing to lose their pursuers. They make their way to a local stronghold and discover that it's abandoned, infested with strange monsters reminiscent of the human experiment Will ran into on the 3 rd Floor.

They locate the central monster and kill it, revealing a conspiracy by a Lord to usurp the valuable city in the process. The Lord's brat shows up in the city and they almost die running away. They're ambushed by the people who attacked the bus and nearly bite it out in the wilderness, barely managing to defeat them before they arrive in the next Stronghold. They rest and recover, deciding that the people responsible for the destroyed city need to die. The end.
