It took half an hour to reach the underground Safe Spot. Following which, the hunting team directly reported to Susanne. They submitted a total of around 200 kg of meat. After seeing the neatly cut steaks, Susanne was completely shocked. They were currently in a strange place, so how could meat look this perfect? Even the prestigious restaurants and hotels in the real world would not possess meat that looked this perfect. Could they have bought this meat from the outside world?
The thought suddenly crossed her mind, since she had already witnessed Arthur summon food from Skeleton.
"Where did you guys get this steak?" she could not help but ask.
"Of course, we hunted it. Where else would we get the meat?" Arthur said.
"So, how are things going here? Has Finola woken up yet?" Arthur asked Susanne.
"I do not know if she will wake up anytime soon. There were people who went into a deep sleep even before we arrived, yet they have not woken up. Hence, I do not think those people will ever wake up unless we exit this place." Susanne's face turned sad when the topic of Finola and Roddy was brought up.
"It is a miracle that you woke up," she continued.
"That is what I told him as well." After hearing their conversation, Laurene chimed in.
"Guys, trust me, it is no miracle. I guess when we were teleported to this place, some people's bodies did not take the change and went into a sleep like a coma. They will eventually wake up," Arthur insisted. He did not wish to blabber about a miracle. Naturally, it was not a miracle; he fortunately had his Summons to help him wake up. However, they had to get out of here sooner. If those people remained in a long slumber, their bodies would eventually give out.
After Arthur denied the miracle, the group suddenly fell into silence. It was as if their hopes had crumbled, and Arthur was the reason for it. He did not know what to do in such a situation. He simply could not keep them believing that his awakening meant there was some profound reason, or that he would easily find a way to get out of here. He heaved a heavy sigh at his inability to give hope to these people, because he himself was not sure of how things would play out.
"Do not worry, I will see what I can do. I just want you guys to be ready for anything. Do not dwell on despair. If this is a Trail as everyone claims, there are always multiple options to clear it. So, just keep your senses heightened for every moment to react based on the situation," Arthur advised. Hearing his words, everyone promptly nodded their heads. Once he submitted the meat, Arthur proceeded to the main hall where a majority of the people had gathered. Arthur looked at his surroundings.
He noticed their new King and his retainers sitting in a group, while a scant few sat by the side of the hall. He could not find Nickolas. He guessed Nickolas must be doing some work. This tale has been pilfered from Royal Road. If found on Amazon, kindly file a report. While he was looking around, his eyes suddenly landed on an old man sitting separately and alone, away from the groups.
"Larry." Arthur started walking towards his direction. When he crossed the group of people, they noticed where he was heading. However, Arthur did not bother to pay them any attention. Before he could reach the old man's location, a voice echoed. It was a very well-known voice in this kingdom; it was the voice of their King calling out to him.
"Brave Hero, come here," Victor called. Turning his head, Arthur noticed a gleam of amusement on the faces of Victor and his subordinates. Arthur did not know what these people were planning. Are they prepared to live here forever? Looking at their behavior, Arthur could not help but think of the possibility that these people had already accepted their fate to die here. Arthur walked over and stood a few steps away from the group. His eyes pointed directly at Victor.
"What do you want?" Arthur asked.
"Let us see what I want... mmmmh. Dance for me," Victor said with a loud laugh, the others joining in with him. Arthur was completely dumbfounded. Dance? What was this person blabbering about? It was not just Arthur; even the group of people sitting nearby were shocked. They were currently stuck in a place that had death written to their names. Yet, these people were behaving as if they had come here for a vacation.
"What are you waiting for, kid? Dance! Did you not hear what the young master said?" the burly man named Van harrumphed.
"Are you serious?" Arthur asked, truly confused by their request. At first, he thought they were only trying to mock him. However, seeing their tone, they were absolutely serious. There was one thing Arthur could not understand. Why did these people still listen to this person? If they were loyal to Victor on the outside, that would be reasonable because they benefited from him. Here, however, they were the ones superior in strength. Yet, they still listened to him. Were these people truly that loyal to him?
If that were true, it was a commendable quality. While Arthur was in deep thought regarding these matters, he realized he would not be left alone unless he danced. He prepared himself to dance. However, he did not know how to dance at all. It did not matter; he could just do some jumping and finish this nonsense. Afterward, he could talk to the old man, Larry, and ask for more details regarding this place. Boom! A kick heavily landed on Arthur's stomach, and all the air in his lungs instantly vanished.
His body was sent flying backward, landing heavily on his back. His head smashed against the stone floor, his vision instantly turning white. Arthur groaned as he crawled on the floor, trying his best to breathe normally. Tears rolled down his eyes uncontrollably. Snot and saliva flowed out as he continuously groaned. His stomach experienced a piercing pain, as if a scorching flame was constantly burning his skin. To the side, the group of people instinctively closed their eyes.
It was an extremely powerful kick from a person possessing a Three Core Layer. It was just like a gigantic hammer smashing onto a peanut; such was the absolute disparity in strength between the two. Although the group of people was shocked and felt pity for Arthur, not a single person spoke up for him. They were just simple Utility Class Awakeners; they simply did not possess the ability to oppose these strong Awakeners.
"What do you think you are doing, standing there like a statue instead of following orders?" Van let loose a contemptuous laugh. With great amusement, Van walked towards the location where Arthur lay clutching his stomach. He looked down in deep disdain, as if he were looking at a stray dog.
"Stand up," Van demanded. However, Arthur could not even feel his own body, his entire frame trembling without stop.
"I said, stand up." Van lifted his foot and sent a cruel stomp towards Arthur's side. Thud! Thud! Two heavy stomps continuously landed on his ribs. Arthur coughed out a mouthful of blood and saliva, instantly losing consciousness from the excruciating pain.
"Hmph, pathetic," Van harrumphed upon seeing Arthur fall unconscious. He grabbed Arthur's wrist and walked back, directly dragging Arthur towards Victor.
