His remaining 51 Essence suddenly mattered too, except the revision menu now sold each Essence for 20, 000 gold.

The expensive 500-Essence changes cost ten million. People were going to bankrupt themselves fixing old mistakes. Chat had already started blaming Meno for Naraltan becoming Level 100 content.

"Don't blame me, guys. I didn't make it Level 100 only. My public service contribution is still through the roof for unlocking it, so now you know not to waste your gold on equipment if you want to change your class."

All my damage scaling comes from Chain. Compared with that, item damage mods are trash."

"Anything actually broken from Manipulator or Hoarder comes from stacking item modifiers in ways the system clearly doesn't want. One patch note can delete the whole reason you picked the Prestige."

"You take a broken boss modifier with Usurper, then the AI nerfs the player version the next day."

"By the time it nerfs it, you squeeze out all the juice. Then you replace it with the next broken thing. It will always play catch-up." That was the real difference.

"Getting another Usurper skill is easy," Meno said.

"Replacing an entire optimized gear setup is much harder. Manipulator is strong in exactly the way the AI is going to notice, because it attacks the whole itemization system. That goes straight onto the AI's priority list. One broken boss modifier doesn't. It might not even be able to nerf the stolen version cleanly without nerfing the actual dungeon boss too."
