The three charged at Soren together. Mochi rushed in from the front while Ace and Amelia attacked from either side. Soren barely moved. Then he roared. The sheer force of his roar shook the ground beneath them, sending cracks through the street. Mochi stumbled.
"What the hell?!"
"Don't stop! Keep going!" Ace shouted. Mochi fired forward.
"Magic Skill: Burning Mochi!" A mochi missile flew toward Soren. Ace raised his hands.
"Take this!"
"Magic Skill: Flamethrower!" Blue flames engulfed the area. Amelia followed.
"Magic Skill: Cracker Missiles!" Hundreds of cracker shards rained down. Soren simply raised his arms. With one enormous swing, he swatted everything away. The missiles exploded harmlessly in the distance while the flames and crackers scattered across the street. Mochi's eyes widened.
"No way..." Soren charged. Before Mochi could react, the beast swatted him across the street.
"Mochi!" He crashed into a building and disappeared beneath the rubble. Amelia's breathing became heavy. She stared at Soren.
"He swatted Mochi like he was just a fly..."
"How strong is this guy?"
"C'mon, body..." Her hands trembled.
"I know you're scared... but you have to fight." Soren suddenly reached toward her. Amelia froze. His massive hand closed in.
"Amelia!" Ace appeared between them. His blades flashed. He sliced straight through Soren's hand. The severed hand fell away as Soren staggered back. Ace landed beside Amelia.
"Hey." Amelia looked at him.
"We don't have time to daydream. C'mon!" Soren roared in pain. Ace smirked.
"Aww, did that hurt?" He dashed forward, running up Soren's arm.
"Well, too bad!" Soren tried swatting him away. Ace jumped between each swing, continuing upward. Then a voice came from the rubble.
"You got a lucky hit, that's all." Ace glanced over. Mochi emerged from the dust, brushing off his clothes. He looked at Ace running up Soren's arm. Mochi grinned. The tale has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.
"I won't let you have all the fun, Ace!"
"Time to show you what I've really got!" He charged back into the fight. Mochi sprinted up the rubble before leaping several feet into the air. He landed on Soren's other arm. Ace glanced over.
"What do you think you're doing?" Mochi grinned.
"Why should you get all the fun?" Ace sighed.
"Of course..." The two charged forward together.
"Magic Skill: Fireballs!" Ace launched several blue fireballs toward Soren's face. Mochi rushed alongside him.
"Magic Skill: Burning Mochi!" Mochi's fist ignited as he drove it toward Soren and launched it. Soren raised his arm. The fireballs exploded against his face as Mochi slipped underneath his swing and struck him across the jaw. Soren stumbled. Mochi grinned.
"Got him!" Ace leapt onto Soren's shoulder.
"Don't celebrate just yet!" Ace drove his blade into the ground beside Soren's head, forcing him to turn. Mochi jumped in with another punch. Soren caught him. Mochi's eyes widened.
"Uh..." Soren swung him into Ace. Both crashed into the ground, shaking it heavily. Mochi groaned.
"Ow, ow, ow..."
"Okay... that hurt." Ace lay in the rubble, breathing hard.
"D-damn..." Amelia watched from a distance. Her breathing became ragged.
"They can't beat him..." She looked at the enormous beast.
"Even when they're working together..." Her hands trembled.
"What can we even do?" A mysterious voice suddenly spoke." Well... so you're just going to stand there and let your friends die?" Amelia flinched.
"Who's there?!" Silence. Amelia looked around. Nothing. She smacked her cheeks.
"Am I hallucinating or something?" She shook her head.
"C'mon, Amelia. Wake up!" She looked toward Mochi and Ace.
"But..." Her expression hardened.
"That voice is right." She clenched her fists.
"Am I really going to be a coward?" Her magic energy began to rise.
"Fighting might not exactly be my favorite thing in the world..." The ground beneath her feet began cracking.
"... but when I need to protect the people I care about..." Her magic exploded outward.
"... it's absolutely necessary!" Mochi looked up from the rubble. His eyes widened.
"Amelia..." Ace stared.
"What the..." Amelia suddenly leapt into the air.
"HEY, YOU!" Soren looked up. Amelia glared down at him.
"YOU'RE NOT LAYING ANOTHER FINGER ON THOSE TWO!" Her fist clenched.
"NOT WHILE I'M HERE!" She plummeted toward him. Her fist connected with Soren's face. The impact sent the enormous beast flying across the street. Mochi's jaw dropped.
"WHAT?!" Ace stared in disbelief.
"She just..." Amelia landed heavily. She breathed hard before looking toward the two. A small smirk appeared.
"How's that?" Ace slowly stood.
"What was that just now?" He looked at Amelia's overwhelming magic energy.
"But now it's back to normal..." Mochi stared at her.
"Amelia..." Ace narrowed his eyes.
"What the hell was that?" Amelia thought for a moment before shrugging.
"Honestly... I don't know." Mochi, Ace, and Amelia regrouped, keeping their eyes on the beast as it slowly recovered. Ace frowned.
"So what now? That may have been a powerful punch, but I doubt it can put that thing down for good." Amelia nodded.
"Actually... I have a theory I wanted to share."
"It's about Super Voyage Break." Ace looked at her, folding his arms.
"Well? Let's hear it."
"You know how you've been blaming Mochi for messing it up?" Ace nodded.
"I don't think he's the problem." Ace's eyes widened.
"What?" Mochi immediately smirked.
"See! You've been blaming me this whole time, but it was you!" Ace scoffed.
"Don't just point fingers at me. We need an explanation." Amelia continued.
"You keep telling Mochi to match my magic because you've gotten used to matching my energy. You only did that because you wanted to, so you could give Mochi an earful, right?" Ace looked away, whistling. Amelia stared at him.
"So there's actually no limit to how much magic we can put into Super Voyage Break."
"As long as the magic is equal between all three of us, it'll create an even stronger version of the attack." Mochi's eyes lit up.
"So we can go all out?"
"Exactly." Amelia nodded.
"This time, Ace, match Mochi's magic."
"And I'll aim to do the same." Ace sighed.
"Fine... whatever." Mochi giggled. Ace looked at him.
"I don't know why you're laughing, but you better stop before I do it for you." Amelia shook her head.
"C'mon, now's not the time." The ground shook. The beast was getting back up. Amelia looked toward it.
"Here's our last chance." She raised her fists.
"Time for Super Voyage Break!" The three stood together as Soren slowly pulled himself back onto his feet. Mochi looked at Ace and Amelia.
"Ready?" Ace nodded.
"Let's finish this." Amelia took a breath.
"Everyone, match Mochi's energy!" Ace began powering up. A giant blue sun formed above his hands. Mochi and Amelia followed, carefully matching each other's output. The three energies began merging. For the first time, nothing went wrong. The energy continued growing, becoming more powerful with every second. Ace's eyes widened.
"It's actually working..." Mochi grinned.
"I told you we could do it!" Amelia stared at the enormous sphere forming between them.
"This is way stronger than before too..." Soren roared and charged.
"NOW!" Mochi and Amelia pushed their combined attack forward.
"MAGIC SKILL: SUPER VOYAGE BREAK!" The massive blue mini sun, wrapped in red and blue energy, shot toward Soren. Soren planted his feet and grabbed the attack with both hands. The force pushed him backward.
"He's holding it!"
"Did we fail?" Mochi gritted his teeth.
"Then we'll just have to push harder!" Ace shouted.
"Full power, lets GO!" Amelia and Mochi joined them.
"FULL POWER!" The three poured everything they had into the attack. Soren's feet lifted from the ground. His enormous body was carried into the air by the blast.
"ARRRGH!" The attack continued upward before exploding. The resulting explosion expanded across the sky, lighting up the entire town. The three stood there in silence. Amelia's eyes widened. A wide smile formed across her face.
"We did it!" Mochi bounced excitedly.
"Yeah!" Ace calmly lowered his hands.
"I guess we did." He glanced at Amelia and smirked.
"Not bad, Amelia." Amelia's face immediately turned pink, not expecting praise from Ace of all people.
"Oh... yeah. No problem." Mochi looked between them.
"Alright, but that's not done!" He pointed toward the distance.
"We still need to find that Hogsthawts guy, whatever his name is, so we can kick his butt!" Amelia nodded.
"Alright, sounds good to me." Ace sighed.
"Shouldn't we recover first? I still have wounds from the fight." Mochi flexed his arm.
"Mine are fully healed!" He looked toward Amelia.
"What about you?" Amelia smiled.
"No wounds. The only thing I've got is fatigue, but I can walk it off." Ace stared at them.
"You two cannot be human..." He scoffed.
"Well, I won't be outclassed by you two. Let's go find the doctor and give him a dose of a good beating." Mochi grinned.
"Now you're talking my language, Ace."
