Chương 100: Chapter 101: Princess flight

The hoverbike sped through the different sectors of Trillion's lower city as Adam followed the directions his minimap was giving him for the neutron reactor plant.

"So are you going to tell me why you want to break into a sky tower security station?" Stacey asked as she continued to press herself against Adam's back.

"To get the blackmail material needed to use against your boyfriend, ach," Adam replied before he suddenly scratched in pain as Stacey punched his sides.

"Hey, I'm riding here, don't suddenly pinch me." Adam protested.

"Then don't call that perverted dickhead my boyfriend." Stacey huffed before continuing in a calmer voice.

"Why do you need to access the Sky Tower security, though?"

"Because the normal security has nothing on him, it's like you said, they are basically gang members with badges and don't keep records. Also, as Susan said before, the sky tower security branch is on a closed network, and you can't hack them remotely." Adam explained.

"So you're doing it for me?"

"No, I'm doing it for the credits, helping you is just a bonus since you're still my employer." Stacey heard his reply but didn't respond and only smiled slightly. The hoverbike continued to speed through the lower city as it headed towards its destination. About thirty minutes later, Adam and Stacey entered the sector that housed the neutron reactor and saw the giant floor-to-ceiling octahedron surrounded by pylons in the distance flashing as electric arcs shot between them.

Adam turned slightly and headed towards the giant tower-like building, which appeared to be undergoing renovations. Scaffolding, or what Adam assumed was the futuristic version of scaffolding, surrounded the tower, but instead of planks of wood being held up by metal posts. This scaffolding was a floating platform that hovered above one another with small orbs on the bottom of each, which Adam assumed were what made the platforms float.

All the windows were empty and without glass or whatever they used, and as they pulled up at the base of the tower, they found construction supplies and machinery lying around.

"Good, looks like no one is here," Adam said as his eyes scanned their surroundings.

"Well, it is the middle of the night, the workers have probably gone home," Stacey said as she reluctantly removed her arms from Adam's waist and climbed off the hoverbike.

"You have a point." Adam agreed as he also climbed off the bike before turning to Stacey and saying, "May I carry your bag?"

"That's more like it." Stacey said with a smile before she handed him the bag while saying, "You may." Adam chuckled before he swung the bag back onto his own back and said.

"Let's go." Stacey followed as they both entered the building and headed towards the stairs.

"I don't suppose the lift will function," Stacey commented.

"Doubt it," Adam replied as they passed a pair of elevator doors that were open and looked inside. The lift shaft was empty and devoid of any lift as far as the eye could see, and nothing happened when Stacey tried pressing the button that called the lift.

"Well fuck, do we really have to climb all the way up? This building looks like it's over a hundred stories tall." Stacey asked.

"Hey, you wanted to come." Adam joked before saying, "There is another quicker way. How do you feel about heights?"

"I'm fine with them, why?" Stacey asked.

"I could fly us up to the top using my armour's anti-gravity drive, though I would have to carry you."

"I'm fine with that." Stacey replied a little too eagerly, causing her to blush slightly before turning her head and saying, "You know if you want to."

"Wahhh." Stacey squealed slightly as she was lifted off her feet before she quickly wrapped her arms around Adam's neck. Adam activated his anti-gravity drive, causing his wings and tail to appear as they lifted off from the ground before flying out of the tower and ascending straight up.

"Wow," Stacey said as she looked around at the view. She had ridden on space ships before, but she had never flown like this using an armour's anti-gravity drive. After a moment, she noticed his wings and tail and asked, "Why do you have wings and a tail?"

"It's how my anti-gravity armour works. When I take flight, the wings appear. In the past, the tail always used to be present; however, I learnt how to hide it since it drew too much attention."

"I've never heard of such a thing." Stacey commented as she admired his wings and tail. "What?" Stacey asked.

"Look," Adam said, indicating where she should look with a nod of his head.

"Is that a shuttle?" Stacey asked as she could make out the faint outline of one before adding, "But they're early. Was Jessie wrong, and there planning to have people wait in ambush before the meet?]"That would be my guess," Adam answered as he increased the speed of their ascent so that they could reach the top before the shuttle saw them.

"We're not going to make it to the top in time," Stacey said after a few seconds.

"You're right," Adam replied before he suddenly stopped ascending and darted through one of the missing windows that was a few floors down from the roof. Adam touched down on the floor and deactivated his anti-gravity drive, causing his wings and tail to disappear before he hid behind a pillar. [Noobkiller9000 (Earth): Hey, his tail disappeared.
