Chương 44: Chapter 45: Getting bullied by Prime

[Match starts in: 59. 58 seconds] [Player: Prime] [Race: Leonian] [Points: 67] [Wins: 78 - 11 Losses] [Streamer] As Adam took a look at Prime's details on the view-screen, a boisterous laugh came over the comm.

"HAHAHAHAHA, So you finally accepted, I thought you were going to chicken out for a second."

"Good, good, now show me what you've got, rookie and maybe I will accept you as my apprentice." [Beczontop (Imperial Down): Ugh, he's still on about this apprentice crap? He always finds some excuse as to why they're not worthy.] [Handsome3horns (Vinox 2): Damn, look at his total score, he must have spent a shit load of points in the shop on upgrades. You're going to be seriously outmatched here, streamer.] The chat continued to grumble and complain about Prime while Adam used the ship's sensors to examine the map that had been randomly chosen, and when he noticed something about it, he smirked. [Match Starts]"Let's go, rookie, show me what you've got Hahahaha" As the countdown hit zero, Prime's ship started heading right for him. [AlamoMatador4thewin (Earth): God damn, look how big it is.] While it wasn't classified as a capital ship size, it was still much larger than Spector, being several times the size.

Unlike in previous matches where Adam had gone straight in to meet his opponents, this time he altered course and started flying away from Prime.

"Hahaha, you can't escape me, Rookie, my ship is faster than yours, here I come." [StealthAssassin9 (Earth): Why is the streamer fleeing?] [Prestigious3horns (Vinox 2): It's probably because he knows he can't stand up to Prime in a straight fight. The only reason he did that in his other matches was because the game had matched him with other new players. Now, though, he is against a veteran player who has earned way more points.] [Tessisdabest (Imperial Down): His ship outclasses the streamers in every aspect.] The map that had been randomly chosen was split into two parts: the first part, which they had spawned in, contained open space, while the second was an asteroid field.

"Aiming to hide behind the asteroids, are you? Good plan, rookie, but it will only keep you alive so long." As Adam was flying towards the asteroid field, Prime managed to get in firing range because of a combination of his faster engines, along with better sensors and weapons that allowed for targeting at longer ranges. As powerful laser beams shot towards Adam, he executed evasive manoeuvres to try and avoid them, though he still got hit by one or two, and they took a large chunk out of his aft shields.

[Handsome3horns (Vinox 2): Fuck, he's using lasers, that's so unfair, the streamer only has plasma cannons that are weaker and have less range.] [Beinglittleisnotadisadvantage (Strathorp 7): Plasma cannons' singular damage might be weaker than lasers, but they fire at a far faster rate, and that normally makes up the difference. The issue here is that Prime's lasers look to be several levels up on the streamers' plasma cannons based on how much damage they did to his shields.]"Ouch, that one must have hurt hahaha, I bet that took a chunk out of your shields, here have some more." Adam continued to evade as much of the incoming fire as possible; however, his aft shields were severely drained by the time he reached the asteroid field. Adam darted in between the asteroids and started using them for cover, causing Prime's lasers to burn holes in the asteroids instead. This novel is published on a different platform. "Ohhhh, you made it inside, good job, but that won't save you, have some of this." As Prime finished gloating over the comms, Spector's sensors picked up half a dozen rockets flying straight at him. Rockets were different to missiles in that missiles required target lock before firing and then hunted the enemy down. Rockets, on the other hand, didn't have target lock and only flew in a straight line; however, rockets carried far greater firepower.

Adam quickly veered in another direction just before the rockets hit one of the asteroids and blew it apart with a huge explosion. The explosion was so strong that Spector was suddenly blown off course from the shockwave, and it took a moment for the anti-gravity drive to stabilise the ship.

"Hahahaha, how do you like that, rookie?" [Beczontop (Imperial Down): That was pointless. What did he achieve from doing that?] [Devil_Prince_Asura (Deverinian 9): Nothing, but that's just how Prime likes to bully the rookies in the game; he knows he is at a clear advantage, and he's going to take his time toying with the streamer before he goes for the kill.] 💫💫💫 Prime was having a great time bullying the rookie, though he would never admit it publicly.

He continued to fire his lasers at Spector as he taunted him.

"Come on, rookie, you need to do better than this if you want to beat me, try harder, hahahah." [Haha, the guy's a total noob, he stands no chance.] [He never stood a chance, that's the point. Prime is giving the rookie a 'Prime Example' of how there are players better than him.] [Use the rockets again, Prime, let's see some fireworks as his ship is sent flying, haha.]"Oh, you guys wanna see the rockets again?" [Hell yeah] [Let's goooo.] [Fire]"Hahahaha."

Prime laughed boisterously as he lined up his huge ship before firing off another 6 rockets. They all watched as the rockets shot forward, and Spector tried to get away before they hit another asteroid, creating another huge explosion and pushing Spector's ship away as it lost control and started to spin slightly again before he managed to recover.

"Ohhh, you survived again. I gotta give you credit for your tenacity, even if you haven't attacked once." [The guy has no way to attack, even if he did, he wouldn't be able to break your shields hahaha.] [How could such a small ship dream about damaging him, let alone defeating Prime's ship, which is several times the size?] [Keep pushing him, Prime, show him how dangerous the universe can be in space hahaha.]"Keep dodging, rookie, you're starting to impress hahahaha."

As Prime finished speaking, he once again fired off 6 more rockets, except this time, Spector did something different. Instead of trying to flee to the sides, he changed right towards prime. [The opponents lost it, haha.] [Is he on a suicide run?] [Do you think he plans to kamikaze his ship into Prime's?] [Sorry, wont work. People have tried before, and Prime's shields held.]"What's this? What's this? Are you trying to take me down with you? I was expecting more of you."

Prime aimed with his lasers at Spector; however, just as he fired them, the rockets hit an asteroid, and an explosion went off. The shock wave of the explosion hit Spector and sent it hurtling forward, causing the lasers to miss and for Spector to fly past Prime's ship. [WTF was that?] [Did he plan that?] [No way, had to be luck.] [Turn about and blast him, Prime.]"Talk about lucky, rookie, but that won't save you for long."

All of the main weaponry on Prime's ship was forward-facing, as he knew that most rookies tended to run as soon as the fight started, and he liked to hunt them down. The only aft-mounted weapons on his ship were defensive ones to help destroy incoming projectiles that targeted his rear.

He started to turn his ship, but because it was so big, it took longer to turn than a ship of a smaller size and just as he was about to face the direction where his sensors had picked up Spector, he saw something large flying in his direction.

"WHAT THE FUCK" 💫💫💫 Adam knew he couldn't go on like this, and so he planned to try the crazy idea he had concocted when he had heard his chat talk about the gravity-controlled tractor emitter. He continued to evade Prime's laser shots as best he could and waited until the right moment, which was just as Prime fired off another set of rockets. Adam altered his course and shot straight at him. [1000yearsofdeath (Earth): WTF is this a kamikaze run? Kekeke.] [Beczontop (Imperial Down): Streamer, don't, you can't beat him in a head-on confrontation.] [Beinglittleisnotadisadvantage (Strathorp 7): He must have a plan.] [Whostolemyduck (Earth): I agree with little. Every other time Prime fired his rockets, he tried to veer to the side, but this time he went straight towards him.] As they watched, they saw Prime fire his lasers just before the rocket impacted the asteroid, and a huge explosion occurred.

The shockwave pushed Spector out of the laser's path before it shot past Prime's ship and appeared behind him. [Superhearofangirl (Earth): Wow, did he plan for that to happen?] [Noobkiller9000 (Earth): I think so, I mean, he charged straight at Prime as soon as he saw the rockets being launched and must have anticipated the shockwave.] [Tessisdabest (Imperial Down): Impressive, the streamer is adapting mid-fight.] As they watched, they saw Adam pilot the Spector towards one of the nearby large Asteroids.
