Chương 23: Xia vs Baldovino The Giantling

Felicity tried to cut through the walls of the capsule, but without success.

"Damn it", she muttered, frustrated.

"If she locked us in here, it was to protect us", Leah said, trying to calm the situation.

"I never asked for her protection", Felicity replied coldly. Meanwhile, Xia and Baldovino stared at each other as the wind stirred their hair.

"You have two legendary swords on your side…will you use them against me as well?" Baldovino asked with a mocking smile.

"No", Xia answered firmly.

"I'll defeat you using only my powers." Baldovino laughed.

"You're still underestimating me, aren't you?"

"You're mistaken. My powers far surpass the two swords I possess. They would be useless against someone like you". Xia gripped her impossibly thin sword and generated multiple enormous, devastating tornadoes. Baldovino spread both hands and absorbed them effortlessly. Xia teleported behind him and attempted to stab him, but Baldovino dodged at the last moment and struck her with a devastating punch, shattering her skull. "Oh, you don't look very pretty like that", he commented, observing Xia's face with one eye protruding from its socket. Within moments, Xia regenerated and sheathed her sword. She opened her hand in front of Baldovino, splitting his body into a torso and detached limbs. But he regenerated instantly and, teleporting in front of her, generated blazing flames that burned her alive. Xia did not scream. She clenched her teeth and extinguished the flames with a spell, glancing at her torn kimono.

"That was a very expensive garment", she remarked.

"My apologies, madam", Baldovino said, generating even taller and more powerful flames. Xia avoided them by teleporting behind him and touching his neck. In an instant, Baldovino's body exploded into a thousand pieces. Covered in blood, Xia looked around, ready to react. But Baldovino appeared above her, attempting to strike her with a punch; she barely dodged in time.

"You're strong", he said.

"So are you", Xia replied without hesitation. Baldovino concentrated all his strength and slammed his fist into the ground. A violent earthquake shook the mountains, and enormous boulders began falling from above.

"Are you trying to destroy these mountains?" Xia asked incredulously.

"If that's what it takes to win and obtain those swords, then yes", Baldovino replied.

"I'm willing to do it!" Xia immobilized the rocks and hurled them at him. Baldovino stopped them in turn. The two forces clashed, rocks against rocks, until Xia finally gained the upper hand and broke through Baldovino's resistance. He generated a transparent barrier, and the rocks shattered against it. Without giving him a moment's respite, Xia teleported in front of him and unleashed an immensely powerful shockwave, hurling him into another mountain.

"Do you think she's winning?" Leah asked worriedly from inside the capsule Xia had trapped them in.

"I don't know…Xia is the most powerful being I've ever seen, but I've never seen her this worried before", Felicity replied thoughtfully.
