Chương 56: The Mana Gift

Recap: You defeated the Crystal Golem with the Guardian Hammer. The Mana Storm raged outside. You voted to GIVE CORE TO KARA (ALLIANCE). XP was good. Levels were good. But a mage who owes you a favor? That was insurance. I nudged the glowing Golem Core across the ice with my base. It slid toward Kara. She looked at it. Then at me. Her eyes widened.

"For… me?" she asked. I vibrated. Buzz. (Yes).

"Box…" Torin started. He looked at the core.

"That's pure mana. You could have absorbed it. Leveled up." I'm already a monster, I thought. You're squishy. Kara picked up the core. It hummed in her hand.

"I… I can't take all of it. It's too much for one cast." She looked at me.

"But… I can share." She broke the core in half. She consumed one piece. Her staff glowed brighter. Her eyes sparkled with renewed energy. Blue veins of mana ran through my rusted iron.

"There," she said.

"Now you're… mana-conductive. Your skills… they might cost less. Or hit harder." "Welcome… Traveler…" The voice wasn't the Dungeon Core Voice. It was… human. But echoed. Distorted. A figure stood before the geode. Robed. Hooded. Holding a staff similar to Kara's.

"Who are you?" Torin demanded. He raised his sword. The figure lowered her hood. She was an elf. Silver hair. Eyes like the crystals around us. Level 7.

"I am the Keeper," she said. She looked at Kara.

"You bring… a fragment. And… a Box." She looked at me. Her eyes narrowed.

"You… smell of the Deep Core. And… something else. Something… Outside." Outside, I thought. She knows I'm a Transmigrator?

"The Core seeks balance," the Keeper said.

"The Fragments… they are keys. You have one. The Box has one." She pointed at me.

"Together… they open the Gate."

"Gate to where?" Kara asked.

"Floor 7," the Keeper said.

"The Void. But… the Box… it must choose. Consume the Geode… or Leave it." Consume the Geode? I thought. That's… that's the Floor Boss.

"If you consume it," the Keeper said, "You gain power. But the Dungeon… it wakes. It becomes hostile. If you leave it… the path opens. But you gain nothing." Classic dilemma, I thought. Power vs. Safety. Torin looked at me.

"Box… it's your call. You're the one… resonating." The Geode hummed. It called to the Fragment in my stomach. It wanted to merge. It wanted to make me… more. But the Keeper watched. She was Level 7. If I attacked the Geode, would she fight me? Or help me? Current Stats (Level 5 - Ironband Mimic): HP: 16/23 (Unchanged) Mana: 16/18 (Regen during wait + Bond Buff) Stamina: 28/28 (Full) Inventory: 2 Pebbles, Metal Items (Fused). Mage Staff (Loot).
