"The Magic God Jason is only a low-level God?" I asked in shock as I remembered when I first encountered him. That God seemed very powerful when I had fought him.
"Every God you fight as a mortal will feel that way," Freed explained as he gave me a look as if I was stupid.
"Jason is an incredibly weak God, only at a measly level 5320. Though he is not the weakest, he is still at the very bottom."
"Then how likely do you think it is that I will beat him in a fight?"
"With some slight difficulty, but you should be able to win if nothing goes wrong." Feeling assured by Freed's confirmation, I felt ready to fight against Jason.
"When do we leave to fight him?"
"We will do so right now. Follow close behind me, as the forest is my territory and I have made it intentionally hard to navigate." Freed began to move quickly through the forest while I could barely follow behind him. The more we traveled, the more I realized how absurdly big the forest was. We had been traveling nonstop at my maximum speed for several hours, but we still hadn't made it out of the forest yet.
This was even with someone guiding me through it, so without Freed, I might never have made it out of the forest. After several days of traveling, I finally saw a clearing outside the forest as we at last made it out. Outside the forest was an expansive view of the sky, as the world of the Gods was much more beautiful than the mortal world. There were floating islands in the sky, as well as never ending ground that looked like clouds.
This made me wonder if we were on a cloud right now, as the forest had soil instead of the cloud-looking substance that was now the ground outside. After looking around for a while, Freed finished determining which direction to go and continued to move at an incredible speed. Not wanting to be left behind, I followed after him again, still barely able to keep up. A few days passed as my surroundings constantly changed.
The world of the Gods had several different environments, which showed just how large the world truly was. When we arrived at a dark territory that was deprived of light, I felt that we were getting close. It gave me the same feeling as when I first faced the Magic God Jason. It didn't take much longer before I saw a large castle that was the size of a city. It appears Gods live very luxuriously even if they are low level.
"We've arrived," Freed said after coming to a complete stop.
"Jason is in the throne room, and you can take it from here. I won't get involved, as it wouldn't be beneficial for your growth, so go in by yourself." After saying that, Freed disappeared somewhere, and I was now left by myself with little instruction on what to do. Since I had no other choice, I began entering Jason's castle, ready for a life and death fight. As I snuck around inside, the castle was mostly empty except for a few low-level Gods who seemed to serve under Jason.

Continuing my infiltration, I soon made it to the center where I assumed the throne room to be. As I went deeper, I could feel a heavy pressure, knowing a battle was soon to be inevitable. Once I passed through the dark hallways, I arrived at a wide-open room with a throne in the middle.
On the throne sat an older man with curly brown hair and some facial hair. I knew this man was Jason, whom I had fought before and managed to repel. Jason soon noticed me the moment I entered the room, and he began scrutinizing my every move.
"It's you," Jason said, looking surprised by the intruder.
"I didn't think you would dare find me yourself after how our last battle went. Do you realize I won't let you get away this time?"
"If you want to fight, then let's do it!" I yelled, having already drawn my sword.
"No need to rush. You are not worthy of fighting me in person. Instead, I'll call for some of my servants to fight you." Jason soon tried to summon his servants, but I didn't let him as I ran forward quickly. If help arrived, I would be at a disadvantage, and my sneaking in would be for nothing. Seeing I was the first to attack, Jason felt humiliated and decided to fight me personally. As my sword drew close, Jason created a sword made of lightning, and our attacks clashed, creating a large explosion.
The ground cracked and the throne room shook slightly, but I tried not to back away as I wanted an advantage. Now that I was significantly stronger, Jason realized that he couldn't treat me as the same mortal as before and became serious. The longer the clash drew on, the more power Jason started to build up, and I felt myself pushed back slightly. It seemed I was still slightly weaker in a direct confrontation with Jason. I jumped back before launching another attack from a different angle.
The attack was thrown with my full power, as I wanted to end this as quickly as possible. It was once again blocked by Jason, but I sliced slightly deeper this time. Though the wound was small, Jason also saw it and was no longer as calm as before, realizing I now had the power to challenge him. With my attack at a dead end again, I repeatedly attacked at different angles to try to find his weak point. The progress was slow and my energy was draining, but I continued to push through.
After a couple more minutes of my full-scale attack, I was very exhausted, but I managed to make progress by grazing Jason a few times. During this time, I made sure Jason couldn't cast any other magic other than the lightning sword he made in the beginning, which allowed me to wear him down. Despite my exhaustion, I continued to push through, seeing an opening after so long. This time the collision finally did something as I sliced through his lightning sword and dealt a deep blow to Jason's body.
At this point, Jason had a slight trace of fear in his eyes.
"How dare you hurt me when you are but a mere mortal!" Jason yelled, now finally at the end of his rope too.
"If I had taken you seriously in the beginning, I could have killed you several times over." Jason, after showing his last bit of pride, was now breathing very heavily, as he was exhausted and injured. Not wanting any mishaps to happen, I took advantage of his distraction and slashed with whatever I had left to finally finish the dying God. With a look of complete fear in his eyes, Jason was slashed in half and finally died. He didn't say anything more as his body collapsed on the ground completely still.
I saw a system message upon Jason's death. Level Up: 5288 I had leveled up quite a bit, and I felt significantly stronger now. Still, I was exhausted and needed to run away quickly, as the fight just now was very loud and would attract trouble. After recovering a little bit of energy, I began to make my escape. While I left, I could hear the yells of other Gods rushing into the throne room, having found out about the death of Jason.
I rushed even harder, as I didn't want to get entangled with so many Gods all at once. When I finally escaped the castle and arrived outside safely, Freed was waiting for me, fully expecting me to succeed.
"How does it feel to kill your first true God?" Freed asked with a smirk on his face.
"It should feel quite good after all the trouble Jason had caused you in the mortal world."
"It felt amazing, as if a heavy burden was lifted from my shoulders," I said, now having reached safety.
"Jason oppressed me so much back then, and I finally killed him, which felt very rewarding."
"That's very good. Now I will assign you one final task before we go back."
"What would that be?"
"Kill the rest of the Gods in Jason's castle."
"Do you expect me to do it right now when I'm still tired?"
"No, but you should do it as soon as possible, as I am impatient and don't have all the time in the world."
"Fine. I'll accomplish your task." With my confirmation, Freed left with a smile on his face. He disappeared once again, waiting for me to finish. Since I was so exhausted, I rested for a few hours before reaching my peak condition again. Now, with the experience of killing a God, I reentered the castle, prepared to slaughter more Gods.
