Realizing it was Selen helping me, I no longer had any reason to worry and continued to attack Trisha. With her being distracted, I wanted to deal a fatal blow if I could. Unfortunately, Trisha wasn't distracted for long, as she instantly turned her attention back to me. What I did manage to do, though, was graze her slightly. The damage I dealt to her was small, but it was finally some progress after all the time we had been engaged in combat.
I had yet to injure her this entire battle, so having finally done so felt like an accomplishment. After suffering a minor injury, though, Trisha didn't give me that opening again as she continued to attack me in full force. I had to return to our balanced state once again. It was interrupted again soon after when another attack was shot at Trisha, but this time she chose to ignore it, as she viewed Selen as being too weak to cause any damage.
Trisha was soon proven wrong, as the moment Selen's attack hit her, it left a moderate injury on her back. Though it wasn't fatal, I saw a small reaction on Trisha's face. I was impressed by Selen, as it takes quite a bit of power to even hurt Trisha. This meant that Selen hadn't been idle while I was fighting Trisha and had sufficiently leveled up in this time. Though I didn't know what level she was at now, she was strong enough to injure Trisha, which was all I needed to know.
With the situation tilting in my favor, I no longer had negative thoughts and continued to fight Trisha to give Selen openings to attack. She did exactly as I wanted, as Selen's constant attacks caused Trisha increasing injuries. Trisha's face constantly turned darker, as there was nothing she could do to stop Selen from attacking her. The constant injuries continued to stack up as Trisha started to slow down from all the damage she had sustained. Trisha grew steadily weaker while my strength remained the same.
This allowed me to gain a huge advantage when fighting against her. I was truly grateful to Selen for providing so much assistance in the battle. I originally thought I would be stuck like this forever, but Selen's appearance brought me newfound hope. My hope turned into motivation as I became even more relentless in my attacks, while Trisha could now barely defend. As the fight dragged on, I gained a complete advantage, as my attacks were finally injuring her after all this time.
Trisha grew angrier with every injury I caused her. After a couple more hours passed, with her injuries starting to become serious, her tactics began to change, as she knew she couldn't win. Trisha began to completely disregard my attacks and attempted to attack Selen to at least injure her before dying. At this point, Trisha was far too weak to do anything, as I instantly caught on to what she was doing and stopped her. My sword came down heavily on her back as she let out a cry of pain.
Trisha's attack immediately stopped as she lost focus, and I was allowed to attack again while she suffered in agony. Slashing down a second time, my sword cut far deeper than the previous blow. This caused Trisha to scream even louder, as she was now on the brink of death.
"Stop!" Trisha yelled.
"Let me live and I won't cause you any more trouble! I just want to survive!" I didn't care, as I had been at this for far too long and wanted to kill her right at this moment. The narrative has been taken without permission. Report any sightings. Trisha noticed that I didn't want to stop and tried to crawl away despite the heavy injuries she had sustained so far. With how weak she currently was, her speed had slowed to the point where she was barely moving at all.
I watched her struggle, as this was the woman who had been my enemy for so long. She was now crawling so pathetically on the ground, begging for her life. I thought back to all the trouble she had caused me, and my hatred for her only increased. Once I was satisfied by Trisha's pathetic display, I walked in front of her and blocked her path. She looked up with a face full of fear, as she knew what was to come. Still begging with incoherent noises, I didn't care what she had to say.
I raised my sword, finally intending to end things once and for all. As my sword came down, Trisha showed all kinds of expressions, unable to stop my attack from killing her. I felt immense joy watching her suffer after all she had done to me. The moment my sword touched her neck, Trisha completely gave up and felt deep regret for not having killed me earlier. That thought was erased as her head separated from her body, finally ending her life.
I felt very satisfied to finally complete my goal after hundreds of years. This had been my sole purpose for so long, and I was now finally free. I thanked the deceased Freed for all the help he had given me, and I continued to bask in the feeling of my victory. Soon, Selen came over to see me as I finished taking in Trisha's death. She looked exactly the same as I remembered, but she looked much more beautiful in my eyes now that she had helped me kill Trisha.
As I looked at her, I soon noticed that she had reached level 9999. It made sense, as she had been able to injure Trisha, who was at level 10000. Selen had grown very nicely since I last saw her.
"How have you been?" Selen asked, after we hadn't spoken in so long.
"I'm fine now that Trisha is dead. So, what have you been up to all this time?"
"I have been killing Trisha's subordinates and getting stronger, as you can see. Still, now that Trisha is dead, what do we do now?"
"Anything we want. How about you become the ruler of the world of the Gods? Now that Trisha is dead, the strongest Gods are the two of us."
"Why don't you rule over the world of the Gods yourself?"
"I still have people waiting in the mortal world and don't want such responsibilities. So how about it? Do you want to be the new ruler?"
"Fine, suit yourself. I don't mind being the new ruler."
"Alright, since that's settled, let's go spread the word and have you recognized as the new ruler of this world." Having no objections, Selen and I set out to travel the world and make things official. Wherever we went, we spread the word that Trisha was now dead and Selen would take her place. There were originally some objections, but once we displayed our power, the Gods soon backed down and agreed.
The world of the Gods was vast, and it took an entire year to travel around and spread the word, even with our speeds having reached the pinnacle. Now, Selen was the undisputed ruler of the world of the Gods, and everyone followed her commands. Seeing as this was finished, it was time for us to part ways, as I wanted to find a way to permanently descend. I had ascended solely to kill Trisha, and I still had many people waiting for me in the mortal world.
"Good luck," Selen said as I left to find a way down.
"Don't worry, we will meet again one day. I don't know when that will be, but with all the time in the world, we will definitely cross paths again."
"Then I'll look forward to when we meet again."
"Likewise." I left Selen and went back to Freed's forest, feeling that I would find a clue to descending if I returned. Creation Energy was simply all-powerful, and I felt it was the key to descending permanently. Once I returned to the forest, I sat next to the strange tree and began to fully comprehend the creation energy. Years passed by as I continued to understand what creation energy was and how to use it for my specific purpose.
Finally, after ten years had passed, I developed a method to descend to the mortal world. I just needed to use creation energy to conceal my level so the world wouldn't reject me. After doing so, I could create a portal down to the mortal realm and travel freely as I pleased. Wanting to test the method immediately, I started by hiding my level. It was a slow process, as my level was far too high and took quite a while to conceal. After a day's worth of effort, I managed to lower my visible level to level 4999.
Though I retained all of my power, using too much of it in the mortal world would cause the realm to reject me, so I needed to be careful. With that done, I began to form the portal that would take me back down. This was much more complicated, as the world of the Gods and the mortal world had far too large of a divide between them. It took an entire week before I created a stable portal that would carry me back down.
I gave Freed's forest one last look, having stayed here for hundreds of years, and knew I would miss the place. I had quite enjoyed my time here despite constantly fearing Trisha. After finishing my last glance, I stepped through the portal, finally able to go home.
