Chương 58: Chapter 57: Final Battle with Trisha

Over the course of the next year, I experimented with what the new energy could do. It was immensely powerful, as any attack I infused it into had its power multiplied. My simple sword slash easily created a vacuum in space that would have taken me a lot of effort previously. A magic spell that created a shield could now easily tank one of the most powerful attacks I could do at level 9999. The applications of this new energy were numerous, but I wanted to refine its usage even more.

If I could fully integrate this power into my swordsmanship, the power would grow even more. By the time the first year passed, it seemed Trisha still hadn't broken in yet, so I had more time. The minimum estimation was truly an overexaggeration, as Selen admitted herself that we still had some more time. In the first year of my experiments, though, I had grown significantly, as I had somewhat integrated the energy into my sword.

I could feel the immense power, as charging it slightly created a giant vortex of energy around the sword. If I were to shoot this, I believed even Trisha would get somewhat injured from it. Not only the power, but the speed increased too, as my sword slashes were now nearly invisible. My progress was steady, and I continued to use whatever time I had left. Every day, I found a new application as I continued to build upon my swordsmanship skill despite not leveling it up.

By the second year, Trisha still hadn't come yet, despite me fully expecting her to have done so by now. I happily took it, though, as it meant I could have more time to prepare. My power and speed continued to increase, as I could now extend the range of my slash even further by coating my sword in this new energy. By doing so, everything my sword touched disintegrated into nothingness. With how powerful this energy was, I gave it a name, as it was an entirely new form of power.

I gave it the name Creation Energy, as it could constantly generate unlimited amounts of power. By the third year, though, Selen reported the barrier was truly reaching its limit, as large gaps were starting to form. It could be any day now that Trisha would break in. I was now very close to a breakthrough on my next form of power, so I continued to train despite the lingering threat that Trisha posed. I completely immersed myself and focused entirely on training.

Within the next three days, I fully mastered controlling the energy to perform all of my previous attacks efficently. Everything I did was now effortless despite the massive use of energy. I could now casually pull off all my moves without getting tired. This was what I wanted to achieve, as fighting Trisha now was a war of attrition, since we were both at the same level. If I could survive longer than her, then it would be a huge advantage. With this last bit of training, I wrapped up my time training by myself.

I needed to rest and bring myself to peak condition rather than continue to tirelessly train. The next two days were very enjoyable, as I rested and recovered from the mental toll of constantly training. I felt like I could now fight Trisha at any time since I was now completely ready in every way. I didn't have to wait long, as I heard a very loud sound in the distance when the barrier completely collapsed. This meant that Trisha now had full access to come inside the forest.

Since this was the case, I quickly rushed to where the sound came from. It didn't take me long with my current speed, and I saw that Trisha was slowly taking her time coming inside. "You! How have you reached this level of power?" Trisha asked in confusion.

"I remember that you were weak and easy to kill back when you first hid in this forest."

"That doesn't matter, does it? You and I both know this won't be resolved by talking."

"You are right, and I am here to kill you for all you have done. Since you don't want to talk, then so be it. Let's fight and settle it right now." Trisha no longer used her slow tactics and rushed at me. I quickly pushed Selen to safety and drew my sword to finally face off with her once again. I knew this would be the final battle, as I had nowhere else to run. If I lost, my death was guaranteed, but if I won, then I would be sure to kill her. There would be no other outcome in this battle.

Trisha managed to attack first, as a giant spear of light instantly formed and shot at me with blinding speed. I countered by slashing down after completely coating my sword in Creation Energy. The two energies collided, creating a crater where the attacks met. The clash ripped space and formed a vacuum that sucked in the surrounding objects. Soon, both attacks dissipated their power, and the environment returned to normal. The result was a draw, as neither of us gained an advantage or received an injury.

Due to this, we continued our exchanges, where I constantly shredded through all the spears of light that Trisha shot. I had mastered using Creation Energy, so I slashed at incredible speeds, sending a shockwave of energy wherever I swung. Every hit neutralized an attack from Trisha, and we constantly ended up in draws. No matter how many exchanges we had, it always ended in a draw, as neither of us could gain an advantage.

Creation Energy gave practically unlimited energy, so neither of us grew tired no matter how many attacks we sent. In this way, we continued to attack each other with no end in sight. Every exchange never got through either of our defenses, so we never got injured in any way. This was a very long and drawn-out battle, as neither Trisha nor I backed down, risking everything to continue this fight. I didn't know how Selen was doing, as my full attention was on killing Trisha.

I didn't know exactly how much time was passing, but the fight continued endlessly. Days passed by with me barely noticing, and then weeks and even months passed by. By the time I became conscious of time again, I wasn't even sure how long I had been fighting, as I was far too preoccupied with fighting Trisha. All I knew was that at least several decades had elapsed since we started. At this point, nothing had changed, and we were still in a perpetual fight that ended with no victors.

We simply attacked each other every day, hoping for the other to mess up so that we could take advantage. Unfortunately, neither of us were that stupid, as we gave our full attention to this fight just to survive. I couldn't back away and neither could Trisha, as doing so meant death. More time passed, and I didn't know what was happening in the outside world, as looking around would get in the way of our battle.

I was just happy that I could keep Trisha preoccupied at this point and not allow her to roam around freely. I no longer had any hope of defeating Trisha, as this fight would probably go on for an eternity. Neither of us would ever run out of energy, and we would just fight forever. I wasn't entirely sure how much time had passed, but more than a hundred years had passed at least. I was completely familiar with Trisha's attacks, and every encounter was now on autopilot whenever I got tired and needed to rest.

I would sleep with half my attention shut off, while the other half would continue fighting. I noticed Trisha was doing something similar, as she was also familiar with my attacks now. In this way, I estimated another hundred years passed doing the exact same thing in our battle. At this point, I wondered about what I was doing, as this was never going to end. The thoughts were soon dispelled, as whenever I had such thoughts, Trisha would wake me up with her attacks and I refocused on our fight.

I wasn't allowed to think during our fight and could only single-mindedly continue holding her off. My mind was now completely blank and devoid of unnecessary thoughts. Whenever something came to mind, I would immediately stop, as it would just get in the way. Trisha had far more experience than me, as she never had a stray thought in our entire battle for me to exploit, so I could only do the same and clear all my thoughts.

I couldn't even think about the future, as my entire life was now comprised entirely of our battle. Nothing else mattered to me anymore, as I neither died nor won to end this battle. Finally, after what felt like another hundred years passed, something finally changed. An attack from the outside hit Trisha, which drew her attention away for a moment. Being allowed to think again after so long, I took a look at who it was that had helped me. I soon saw Selen nearby, which made me instantly guess it was her doing.
